Well, I am sure that most of my friends who are reading this right now are like, "OK, this has to be a joke. Smitty must be real bored now that football season is over and his meme supply is low." And of course, they aren't wrong...
So the genesis for what you are reading and looking at here comes from a couple of sources. The first is simply my pure love of comic books, a hobby that fortunately I never aged out of ever since I was seven years old. Second is I simply love to create, and even though I can't draw, I can most definitely write and imagine vividly.
With that said, we now live in a day and age where artificial intelligence and the internet can help me achieve as a hobbyist what I never could or can professionally. This whole Navy Comics thing here is at most a fun little hobby that costs me zero and with the use of public domain characters, cost me even less than zero. Because in this day and age of intellectual property rights, the best place to find characters to build a cheap and easy cinematic universe is where there aren't any intellectual property rights to worry about, as one of my favorite YouTube creators explains below...
The final source of inspiration comes from the novel, "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay," by Michael Chabon. If you have read the novel, then you understand how the novel inspired me here to dive in as an amateur comic creator and writer. But if you haven't and love the superhero genre and are a fan of the Golden Age heroes, well my friends, this book is for you, along with the novel's spin off comic books. So with all that said, please message me with your ideas for characters in the new NCU, the "Navy Comic Universe!"
